Death
MRS. JAMES HILL DIED AT ARCADIA FRIDAY MORNINGIll Six Months from Effects of Stroke of Paralysis
FUNERAL SERVICES SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Daughter of Noah Tomlinson, Earl[y] Settler of Westfield
After having been in poor health for six months, the result of a stroke of paralysis, and whose condition was critical during the past two weeks, Mrs. James H. Hill died at her home in Arcadia, Friday morning, at the age of seventy. The funeral will be held at the Church of the Brethren in Arcadia at 10 o'clock Sunday morning. Rev. Wike will have charge of the services and the burial will take place in the Dunkard cemetery.
On the 26th of last July Mrs. Hill suffered a stroke of paralysis. She recovered to some extent from this illness. While she was never well after that she was able to be up and around most of the time until two weeks ago when there came a change for the worse and from that time until the end her decline was rapid.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her husband, Rev. James Hill, one of the early residents of the northern part of the county; one daughter, Mrs. Grant Wagner, of Tremont, Ind., who cared for her mother during her last illness, and four grandchildren. She also has three brothers living. They are Robert, Asher and Martin Tomlinson, all of Westfield, and Finley Tomlinson, of Pendleton. Two step-daughters also survive -- Mrs. John Carraway of Cicero, and Mrs. Ella Hutchinson. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Tomlinson, early settlers of the Westfield community, where the deceased was born, reared and lived until her marriage to Mr. Hill on May 20, 1885.
