BANGOR - MERRITHEW, Helen, died May 27 at a local nursing home after a short illness. She was born in Bangor, Nov. 7, 1898, the daughter of the late James H. and Mary (Tremble) Shea. She was a member of the Brotherhood of Firemen and Engineers, Maine Central Railroad. She is survived by one sone, Phillip of Bangor, one daughter, Mrs. Howard Kirkpatrick of Bath, two sisters Mrs. Leonard Arkerson, Dover, N.H. and Mrs. Irene Shea of Bangor. Seven grandsons, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10 a.m. St. Mary's Catholic Church with a mass of the Resurrection. Friends may call at Kelleher's Funeral Home, 119 Cedar St., today. Burial will be in the family lot, Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor.Endnotes
