SOUTH FREEPORT - Ralph E. Wilson, 83, died Feb. 19, 1996, at a Yarmouth healthcare facility. He was born in Bangor, Jan. 19, 1913, the son of Edwin and Florence (Jamieson) Wilson. Ralph attended the Bangor area schools, Higgins Classical Institute in Charleston, and the University of Maine at Orono. In his early years, he worked summers in the Moosehead area for Great Northern Paper Co. After his formal schooling, he was employed as a civil engineer for the Maine Department of Transportation. He served in the U.S. Army and during World War II, he worked at the Naval Shipyard in Bath. He was a real estate broker for more than 40 years and maintained his own office in Yarmouth. He was a a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Sports Alliance of Maine. He loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and finishing. He was an avid fan of the Portland area sports teams. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Muriel (Covell) Wilson; and one daughter, SueAnn Randall, both of Freeport; three sons, Allan s. Wilson of Suffield, Conn., Scott R. Wilson of Wolcott, Conn., and Mark C. Wilson of Yarmouth; five granddaughters, two grandsons. Spring memorial services will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery, East Bangor, at the convenience of the family.
