Kyle Crockett McCarter, 45, died at his home in the Fallville community, near Elk Creek, Wednesday morning, June 16, at nine o'clock. Death followed a lengthy period of ill health. He underwent an operation for a brain tumor about three months ago at the Medical College of Virginia hospital, Richmond, and his condition had remained serious since that time.

Mr. McCarter was the son of the late William Franklin McCarter and wife, Mrs. Laura Vaught McCarter, both of whom have passed away almost within the past three years. Two brothers, Rhea McCarter and Bryan McCarter also preceded him in death.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Flossie Rhudy McCarter; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Sue Brooks, Richmond, and Miss Mary Nell McCarter, of the home, and one brother, Summitt R. McCarter, Trenton Mich.

Funeral services will be held at Jerusalem Methodist church Friday at 2:00 p.m., the body to be placed in the church one hour earlier. Interment, under Vaughan-Guynn direction will follow in the church cemetery.

The body was taken to the home this morning.
