Peter Worden

Peter III resided from 1697-1706 in South Kingstown, Washington, Rhode Island where he was a farmer. In May of 1705 he purchased 100 acres from Joseph Davoll in Charlestown, Washington, Rhode Island. On January 4, 1709 he purchased another 158 acres, and on March 30, 1713 another 204 acres from John Babcock.On March 15, 1725 he bought 1/2 acre with a dwelling.

On September 8, 1721 he appears in Court in Tower Hill (Kingston) to acknowledge gifts of land to his two sons, Judah and Peter IV. These came from the 204 acres he had obtained from John Babcock.

By 1729 he was residing in Warwick, Kent, Rhode Island. He made out his will on September 14, 1732 naming his wife Mary, his son Peter, his daughter Mary, and Joshua and Mary, grandchildren through his elder son, Judah, deceased. The will was proved December 4th. His daughter was the executrix.

He died November 18, 1732, but it is not known if he was buried in Warwick or in the cemetery of Peter IV in Charleston.
