MRS. THORPE DEAD
Readers of this paper will be shocked at learning of the death of Mrs. Genette Thorpe, who passed away on Wednesday morning, January 18, at her home about two miles northwest of Council. For a month or more Mrs. Thorpe has been ill from a stomach affliction, but it was only a few days before her death that her condition became critical.
The exact time of the funeral remains unfixed, pending the arrival of a daughter, Miss Mary, who is visiting relatives in Big Arm, Montana. It is, however, expected that the funeral services will be held on Sunday at the Congregational church.
Together with her husband. A. C. Thorpe, and sons and daughters, all of whom are grown, Mrs. Thorpe came to the Council neighborhood about three years ago from Fairfield, Idaho. She was sixty years of age and is survived by her husband, three sons -- Earl, Arthur, and Raymond, all residing in the Council neighborhood, and two daughters -- Mrs. Mattie McCarter, of Big Arm, Montana, and Miss Mary, who lives at the parental home.
To her acquaintances Mrs. Thorpe was known as a most lovable lady, and the sympathy of the community will go out to the bereaved family in their irreparable loss.
