Individual Details

Asa Angell

(August 24, 1771 - June 22, 1842)

Asa was born on the same day as his father, Israel Angell. His mom was Martha Angell. At about age 20 Asa married Cynthia Hill. They moved from Providence to Chenango, New York. Maybe during the move they rode in a wagon, with Cynthia sitting in a rocking chair given to her by her mom which she kept in her home and handed down in the family through the years (page 56 Historical Sketches of New York). Cynthia and Asa had sons and daughters. Asa was a shoemaker, cooper and farmer.
