Violetta was the 4th child of Jonathan Cable. Her family moved to Pleasant Grove, Floyd County Iowa by the 1880s. The family farmed. Violetta was a postmaster and stenographer. She lived in Minnesota, Chicago, Seattle and Des Moines. In her 50s she married Charles Anderson. After Charles died she lived with her sister in law Mary Fries Cable.
