John Cable

(April 22, 1847 - December 5, 1924)

John Cable was born in Somerset County Pennsylvania, the first child of Jonathan Cable and Eliza Frey. By 1850 the Cable family was in Wisconsin, then in Iowa, they farmed. John was a railroad contractor and is listed as an inventor in his obituary. He married Frances Allen they had a son Chauncey. John died December 5th, 1924 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago and is buried at Peasant Grove Cemetery, headstone not yet found summer 2020
