In the Torch of Liberty newspaper in Wausau, Wisconsin, a notice dated September 15, 1877 by E. Stevens says: "Whereas my wife, Rachael Stevens, has left my bed and board without just cause or provocation, all persons are hereby warned not to harbor or trust her on my account, as I will pay no debts of her contracting."
On June 10, 1879, Eliakim Stevens was issued a land grant of 179 acres and 40/100ths of an acre from United States of American Land Office at Wausau, Wisconsin.
