Orville Lomnes, Native Hudsonite, Funeral Monday
Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. from the Presbterian church for Orville "Kewpie" Lomnes who died Fridy, Sept. 18 at Veterans hospital in St. Paul.
Born in Hudson on December 24, 1899, the son of Edward and Caroline (Lee) Lomnes, he was educated in the public schools and graduated from Hudson High school in 1919. During World War I he served with the armed forces.
On December 2, 1921 he was united in marriage to Genevieve Chinnock at Ellendale, N. Dak. They lived in St. Pul for four years, and since 1925 have made their home in Hudson. He had worked for the railroad since 1914, many years as assistant traveling auditor, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Clerks. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Surviving are his wife, Genevieve, and two sons: Donald and Thomas, all of Hudson; three sisters, Mrs. Axel Jensen, Superior; Mrs. Clifford Munson, St. Paul and Mrs. Fred Kuist of El Cajon, Calif., and four granddaughters.
During the funeral service Miss Emma Engebretson sang "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" and "Abide With Me" accompanied by Mrs. Harold Walbrandt. Interment was in Willow River Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Haugen, Henry Bargen, Harold Olson, Harold Weatherhead, Loren Larsen and Art Lee.
Kramer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
