Mrs. Lomnes, 80, Funeral Held Here Saturday
Resident of Hudson for Over 55 Years; Died in St. Paul Last Thursday
Mrs. Caroline Lomnes, nearly 80 years old and a former resident of Hudson, died on Thursday morning, December 6, at St. Paul, following a prolonged illness.
Funeral services were held at the home of her son, Orville Lomnes, in Hudson at 2 o'clock last Saturday afternoon, Dr. E. W. Wright of the Presbyterian church officiating. Burial was in Willow River cemetery.
Mrs. Lomnes was born in Eker, Norway, on February 27, 1866. She came to Hudson at the age of twenty and this city remained her home until five years ago when she moved to St. Paul. She was married in Hudson to Edward Lomnes in 1891. Her husband preceded her in death sixteen years ago, on October 29, 1929.
She was a resident of Hudson for more than 55 years and during the that time she made many friends in the local community. She was a member of the Daughters of Norway.
She is survived by four children, Mrs. A. S. Jenson, Superior, Wis.; Mrs. C. R. Munson of St. Paul; Mrs. Fred Kuist, Vancouver, Wash.; and Orville E. Lomnes of Hudson; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
