Thomas Orvil Lomnes, 57, of 224 11th St., died in the hospice unit of Hudson Medical Center Hospital Monday, My 25, after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 1, 1929, the son of Orville E. and Genevieve (Chinnock) Lomnes. He attended local schools and was graduated from Hudson High School in the class of 1947.
On May 14, 1954, he was married to Dawn Ziegler.
He was an active outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling in his Airstream trailer.
He served in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean conflict.
For 28 years he was employed by the 3M Company in St. Paul.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hudson, a past master of St. Croix Loedge 56 F&AM, a life member of VFW Post No. 2115 of Hudson, as well as a past president of the Airstream Indianhead Wisconsin unit.
Visitation was Thursday evening, May 28, at O'Connell's Valley Funeral Home.
Services were Friday, May 28, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. David M. Crow officiating.
During the service, Debbie O'Keefe was vocal solist and Myrtle Fegely, organist.
Interment will be in Willow River Cemetery.
Surviving are his widow, Dawn; four daughters, Dr. Pamela (Lomnes) Schneider (Mrs. Mark) of Albuquerque, N.M., Sandra J. Lomnes of Menomonie, Roxane O'Keefe (Mrs. Daniel) of Madison, and Deborah Lomnes of Hudson; a son, Timothy Lomnes of Maplewood, Minn.; a grandson, Joshua; his mother, Mrs. Orville E. (Genevieve) Lomnes of Hudson; and a brother, Donald E. Lomnes of Prescott, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his father Orville in 1959.
Memorials are preferred to the Cancer Fund, American Heart Association or the Hudson Hospice unit.
