Louis C. Larsen, 76, Dies Monday, Funeral Today
Louis C. Larsen, 76 years old and a farmer in the local community for many years, died Monday evening, Apr. 26, at his home on Liberty Hill after an illness of two years. Death was due to a heart ailment.
Louis Christian Larsen was born near Copenhagen, Denmark, on Sept. 24, 1866. When 21 years old, he migrated to America, settling first at Cushing, in Polk county. Later he moved to the Burkhardt community.
He was married to Mary Karras in Hudson on April 27, 1895. they farmed for a time at Burkhardt and then moved to a farm near New Richmond, where they lived for 12 yers. After this they farmed at the Whitten place south of Hudson for 9 years and on the henry Brummel farm, east of Hudson, for 18 years. He retired three years ago because of ill health and moved to Hudson.
He is survived by his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Wm. Noltier of River Falls, Mrs. I. W. Mann of Hudson, Mrs. John Yanish of St. Paul and Miss Anna Larsen of River Falls; three sons, Joseph of Hudson, Louis, Jr. of Stillwater, and Alfred of Hudson; eleven grandchildren, one g.grandchild; one brother, James Larsen of Prescott, Wis. and one sister, Mrs. Charles Jones of Menomonie. One daughter, Mrs. Albert Lettengarver, died in 1937.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) at the O'Connell Funeral Home, Rev. J. H. T. officiating. Music will be given by Mrs. Roy Kurrasch and Mrs. Carl Olson.
