Russell F. Bottolfson passed away April 7, 2009 at his home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1923 in Alden Township, the third child to Oscar and Florence Bottolfson. He attended
school in rural Pine Lake. He was baptized and confirmed at West Immanuel Church.
On Dec. 17, 1949 Russell married Victoria Elise Olson. Of this marriage three daughters were born: Sylvia,
Marion and Linda. Russell and Victoria were married 49 years and 11 months, until Victoria’s passing.
Russell worked as a farmer all his life and also held a full-time job for 25 years at the Doboy Feed Mill in New Richmond, Wis. Russell enjoyed working with his horses, hunting, spending time with family, socializing and hanging out with his dog Charlie. He had been a member of Moose Lodge #594 for the past 15 years where he participated
in horseshoe tournaments and other social activities.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife Victoria; daughter Linda; one greatgranddaughter; his parents;
four brothers; and one sister. He is survived by daughters Sylvia (John) Hofland of Osceola, Wis., Marion (Jim)
Vorwald of Star Prairie; five grandchildren, Gary (Star) Vorwald of Elkhart, Ind., Geraldine (Rick) Nelson of Osceola, Wis., Julie (Scott) Hove of River Falls, Wis., Susan Hofland of Stillwater, Minn. and Richard Hofland of Osceola, Wis. Russell is
also survived by 13 greatgrandchildren; two brothers; five sisters-in-law; special friends David and Debbie Payson and his very special friend Robert Holler.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at 2 p.m. at West Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural
Osceola with Pastor Rexford Brandt officiating. A visitation was held two hours prior to the service at the church.
Special music was provided by Bog Creek. Organist for the service was Dana Hansen. Pallbearers were Ronald Olson, John Evenson, Virgil Sagness, Dale Bottolfson, Scott Hove, Gary Vorwald and David Payson. Interment was at the
West Immanuel Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made with the Williamson-White Funeral Home and Cremation
Services of Amery, Wis.
