Oscar Bottolfson, 92, died June 7, 1992, at Ladd Memorial Hospital in Osceola.
He was born in Alden Township of Polk County, on a farm near Little Falls. He was the son of Edward and Mary Knutson. His mother died of tuberculosis when he was four years old, and he was later adopted by the Hans Bottolfson family.
He completed school through the 8th grade, then helped on the farm. One June 15, 1920 he married Florence Gibson. He spent a large part of his life farming, but he also was a milk hauler and worked at Friday Canning.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Florence; by a son, Richard; by two brothers, Martin and Henry Knutson; by a sister, Cecilia Larson; by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is survived by six sons: Russell, Howard and Orlo of Star Prairie, LeRoy of Amery, Curtiss of New Richmond and George of Coon Rapids, Minn.; by a daughter, Alice Brisson of St. Paul; by 48 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter, as well as many other relatives.
Funeral services were held June 10, 1992 at West Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Rexford Brandt officiating. Interment was at West Immanuel Cemetery.
