John R. Jenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels J. Jenson of North Hudson, and Lyle A. Halberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Halberg, 1314 Sixth street, have graduated from an intensive course in airplane mechanics and now are prepared to blast the Axis as one of America's "commandos in coveralls". Sheppard Field, near Witchita Falls, Texas, is one of the many schools in the Army Air Forces Technical Training Command which trains the specialist technicians to maintain our mighty air armada. They are now qualified to play a vital role in the Army Air Forces groundcrew teams that "Keep 'Em Flying."
Before enterng the school they were trained at one of the basic training centers of the Army Air Forces Technical Training Command and learned to fight the Axis with other things bedies the tools of their trade.

Cpl. John R. Jenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Jenson of Hudson, has completed his training as a propeller specialist at the Army Air Forces Technical Training Command School at Chanute Field, Illinois.

Jenson Retires From Military
A former Hudson man has retired from the U.S. Army Air Force after 29 years service. He is John Robert Jenson, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nels Jenson.
Jenson is married to the former Marjorie Hovland of Superior and has three sons, Richard, Ralph and Robert. The family is currently in Superior.
Jenson is a 1942 graduate of Hudson High School.

John Robert Jenson was born March 1, 1924 in Hudson and died suddenly in River Falls April 17 at the age of 56 years. He was the son of the late Nels John Jenson and Gurina Hallanger. He was one of triplets, John, Jane and Janet.
He was graduated from the Hudson High school in 1942 and entered the Army Air Corps in 1942, later known as the US Air Force. He served 29 years in the Air Force and retired June 30, 1971 as a Senior Master Sergeant.
He moved to River Falls in 1971 living at 228 S. Third St. He worked for the security force at UW-River Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Hovland Jenson; three sons, Robert Jenson stationed at the Naval Station at Great Lakes, Illinois; Richard Jenson of Stevens Point and Ralph Jenson at home.
Also surviving are six sisters: Anne Lester of River Falls, Helen Bethel of Spooner, Ruth Lund of Hudson, Leila Christiansen of Webster, Laura Kiney of River Falls and Jane Rasmussen of New Richmond.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Olaf Jenson of Spooner and Janet Jenson who died in infancy.
Memorial services were at the Cashman Mortuary, River Falls, Monday, April 21 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert L. Riley officiating. Interment was in Willow River Cemetery, Hudson.
