Signora M. Engstrom
Signora Margarette, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Engstrom, died at her home on 6th St., on Friday, June 15, '09. Signora was born at Hudson, just five years before, on June 25th, '04 and her short, happy life was lived with her parents and grandparents.
She was sick less than a week and up to that time was well and everthing that loving hearts and willing hands could do was done by friends and relatives. She was unconscious the last four days and on Friday morning she went to her last sleep.
What more could parents ask, than a heavenily home for their loved one as a birthday gift. She died on the same day and month as her birth, June 25.
Tho the place she filled with her sunny presence is empty our hearts are comforted to know that we were able to do all that mortal hands could do for her. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and playmates, but "God wanted another angel and close our darling girl." Funeral services on Sunday, June 27 at 2:30 from the house and 3:00 from the church, were conducted by Rev. N. L. Blomholm.
Mr. Herbert Anderson rendered an appropriate solo and the church choir sang.
Six little girl friends who were members of the youngest society of the church, of which Signora was also a member, acted as pall bearers. A host of friends and relatives followed her to her last resting place.
"Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on his loving breast,
There by his love o'ershadowed
Sweetly our darling shall rest.
Safe in the arms of Jesus
Safe from corroding care
Safe from the world's temptations
Sin cannot harm her there."
