Mrs. Donald J. Engstrom, 49, Dies August 23 in Des Plaines, Ill.
Word has been received in Hudson of the death of Mrs. Donald J. Engstrom, 49, in a Des Plaines, Ill. hospital on Friday, August 23.
Mrs. Engstromg was the former Mary Susan Hoyer of Hudson. She was the daughter of the late Alfred S. and Pearl (Shoemaker) Hoyer.
It is reported that Mrs. Engstrom had recently undergone surgery.
A native of Hudson, she was born July 21, 1919. She attended local schools and was graduated from Hudson High School in 1937. She later attended Milwaukee Downer college. While a resident of Hudson she attended St. Paul Episcopal church.
In 1947 she was married to Donald J. Engstrom.
Funeral services were in Des Plaines Monday, Aug. 26, with burial in Memory Garden cemetery.
Surviving are her husband; a son, John Alfred, 25, a law student in Texas; a brother, John A. Hoyer, of St. Paul; a stepmother, Mrs. Alice Engstrom Hoyer of Hudson. An aunt is Mrs. Thomas R. Hughes of Hudson.
Among those attending the services in Des Plaines were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Engstrom and Jean and Bill; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kees, Mrs. Alice Hoyer, Mrs. Leo Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. John Hoyer of St. Paul.
