Individual Details
Arnt J. Floren
(18 Feb 1848 - 3 Sep 1914)
The rural cronicle of Stjordal, volume V, part II, page 645-646 concerning the tenant farm vestre Florbakken under the farm Storfloren, says that Arnt J. Florbakken, born 1848, married Sigrid Halvorsdtr. Florloft. They cannot be
found listed as married in Hegra parish-of-ease in the period 1868-1874. Nor was Arnt J. Florbakken listed as emigrated, whether in the emigrant lists of the Trondheim Police Office or in the migrant lists in the parish register of Hegra parish-of-ease in the period 1868-1874. The parish register 1863-1879 of Hegra parish-of-ease shows however that the maiden Sigrid Halvorsdtr. Storflorplass, born March 11, 1842 left the parish for America according to certificate from the pastor dated April 1873. She is not listed in the index to the emigrant lists of the Trondheim Police Office, so cannot say where she was going in America. She would probably have left Norway from another port. That would also be the case with Arnt J. Florbakken. (Letter, 18 Nov 1988, Statsarkivet i Trondheim)
