Death
Eddie Franklin Furr, Jr., 63, of Route 1, Box 410, Bluemont, Va., died on Friday, Oct. 14, at VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va. Mr. Furr was born on May 27, 1931, in Upperville, Va., the son of the late Edward Furr and the late Margaret Wines Furr. He was retired from Nissan Corp. as a factory representative. Mr. Furr served 30 years in the Army-serving in WW II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was Jump Master with the 82nd Airbome. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Berryville and a member of the VFW #9760. Surviving are a daughter, Jonclle Roark of Okla., two sons, Larry Furr of Vicksburg, Miss., Eddie Furr Ill of Tex.; two brothers George Furr of Upperville, VA., and Bobby Furr of Leesburg, Va., three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. One daughter, Margaret Furr, predeceased him in 1983. The funeral was on Monday, Oct. 17, at the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Clarke County, conducted by the Rev. Charles Townsend. Burial was at Leeds Cemetery in Hume, Va. Pallbearers were Chris DeHaven, John Canter Jr., James Wright, Gerald Shepherd, Timmy Olinger and Billy Furr. Funeral arrangements were made by Enders Funeral Home, Berryville.Endnotes
