Death
MOSCOW — A 19-year-old Somerville woman was killed instantly in a two-vehicular wreck at the intersection of Tennessee 57 and 76 here Tuesday and a 2 1/2-week-old infant died Wednesday from injuries, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. A Memphis District THP dispatcher said Margaret Furr died when her car was struck by a 2 1/2-ton truck. The infant, Candice Sexton, died Wednesday afternoon at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center, according to the hospital’s Public Relations Department. The baby’s mother, Rhonda Sexton, 19, of Moscow and a passenger in the vehicle, was listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit of St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, according to a hostess there. The dispatcher said investigating trooper’s report revealed that Miss Furr apparently made a left turn in front of the truck and that no charges will be pressed in the accident. Services for Miss Furr, a student at State Technical Institute in Memphis, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home in Somerville with the Rev. Carl Feathers officiating. Burial will be in Hood Cemetery near Somerville. She was a native of Oahu, Hawaii, had lived in Fayette County since 1977, and graduated from Fayette Ware High School in 1982. She was a member of Feathers Chapel Baptist Church. Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Furr of Somerville; a sister, Mrs. Jo Roark of Sulphur, Okla.; two brothers, Larry Furr of Vicksburg, Miss., and Eddie F. Furr, stationed with the Air Force in the Azore Islands; and her grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Furr of Berryville, Va. Services for the Sexton infant are incomplete with Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home in charge. The Jackson Sun, Jackson, Tennessee, June 16, 1983
