Death

STAUNTON — Rebecca Jane (Furr) Breeden, 76, wife of Herbert R. Breeden of 35 Stanley St., Staunton, went to be with her Lord on February 22, 2008 after a long illness at Ruxton Health Center. She was born December 9, 1931 in Fishersville, a daughter of Oscar G. and Ethel (Bradley) Furr. Mrs. Breeden was a secretary for Breeden's Roofing. Rebecca was a Presbyterian and loved to go fishing, camping and working with mathematical figures. In addition to her loving husband of 55 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Judy Breeden of Goshen; a grandson, Jason Breeden Dameron of Stuarts Draft; three sisters, Helen Hargrove of Hampton, Elizabeth Fleming of North Carolina, and her special sister, Mary Alice Breeden of Fishersville, who stood by her side until the end. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Oscar G. Furr. A Graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 in Augusta Memorial Park. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 at her residence. Her husband and son would like to give a special thanks to her sister and friend, Mary Alice, for all the help and loyalty she gave to Rebecca at her time of need.
