Death
MECHANICSVILLE — Oscar G. Furr Jr., 62, died Saturday (Oct. 14, 1989) at his residence here. He was born Oct. 7, 1927 at Fishersville, a son of Oscar G. and Mary Ethel (Bradley) Furr. Survivors include a daughter, Julie M. Harris of Greenville, S.C.; a son, Gary L. Furr of Mechanicsville; four sisters, Helen Hargrave of Newport News, Elizabeth Fleming of Morehead City, N.C, Mary Alice Breeden of Staunton and Rebecca J. Breeden of Spottswood; and three grandchildren. A service was held Tuesday at Signal Hill Memorial Park.The Daily News Leader, Staunton, Virginia, October 19, 1989
