Death
Mary Isabell Furr Thompson Chesney age 87 died at 3:50 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 in the Ben Hur Home in Crawfordsville. She had been in failing health the past few months. She was raised in the New Richmond area and had attended New Richmond High School. She had worked in housekeeping at Culver Hospital, RMC in Attica and as a homemaker. She enjoyed bingo, crafts, country music and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was born in Newtown on Aug. 24, 1922 the daughter of Frank and Nellie May Walser Furr. She was first married to John Thompson he preceded her in death in 2001. She later married Vernon Chesney and he preceded her in death in 2006. Surviving are: two daughters, Barbara Jane (James) Hayworth, of Delphi, and Sue Ann (Gary) Tague, of Crawfordsville; a son: Lawrence 'Doc' (Pat)Thompson, of Wingate. a sister, Polly Thompson, of Noblesville; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded her in death were four brothers, five sisters and a grandson, Michael Tague. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 at Family and Friends Funeral Home, in Wingate, with Pastor Ed Selvidge officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro. The family will greet guest at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Kidney Foundation.Endnotes
