Charles M. Furr (April 25, 1914 - November 8, 1994)Charles M. Furr, 80, 2109 Central St., Lafayette, IN, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette, where he had been a patient since Monday. He was born April 25, 1914 in Newtown, IN to Frank and Nellie Walser Furr. He married Pauline McComas on November 23, 1938 in Indianapolis and she survives. He attended New Richmond High School. He was a retired self-employed painter. Surviving with his wife is one son, William C. Furr, Lafayette; 2 daughters, Martha (Marty) Deitrick, Lafayette, and Ruth Ann Burgess, Westminster, SC; 3 sisters, Lois Brynes, Crawfordsville, Mary Isabelle Chesney, Crawfordsville, and Pauline Thompson, Noblesville; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister and a granddaughter are deceased. Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m., at Hartzler Funeral Home. Burial was in IOOF Brookston Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Badger Grove Community Baptist Church.
