Death
NEW RICHMOND, July 16 — Lawrence Furr died at 2:45 p. m. Tuesday in Culver hospital, Crawfordsville, of injuries sustained early Sunday in an auto accident. At the same moment funeral services were being conducted here for his brother, Lloyd R. Furr, 38, who was killed in the same accident. Lloyd's two sons, Robert, 16, and Donald, were injured. Robert, who was driving, was thought to have dozed, the car hitting the side of a small bridge, two miles north of Veedersburg on U. S. 41. Lloyd was instantly killed. Lawrence suffered a basal skull fracture and never regained consciousness after the accident. Born near Newtown, Lawrence Furr lived there most of his life, and a was a member of the Newtown Baptist church. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Furr; four sisters, Mrs. Charles Johnson, Dayton, O.; Mrs. Marian Lightle, Veedersburg; Mrs. John Thompson, New Richmond, and Pauline Furr, Crawfordsville, and two brothers, Charles, Lafayette, and Gerald, Dayton, O.Journal and Courier, Lafayette, Indiana, July 18, 1947
