Richard Neal "Dick" FURR
(June 3, 1925 - January 10, 2014)
Richard was employed as a coal miner, a cab driver, a bus driver, and at the Ford Motor Company, where he retired. He also served in WWII. He enjoyed collecting Coca Cola memorabilia. His neighbors and friends enjoyed his company and he would make sure everyone would have food he prepared or vegetables from his garden. His wife of 54 years, Freda Irene Junkins, (1922-2006); son, Forrest Lee, (1961-2013); daughter, Valarie G., (1954-1975); step-daughter, Nancy Frazier; and son-in-law, Ray Leary, preceded him in death. He leaves three daughters, a son, ten grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Richard N. Furr, 88, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014. Born in Clarksburg, W. Va. on June 3, 1925, Mr. Furr lived most of his life in the Akron area where he retired from the Ford Motor Co. He served in the Armed Forces during World War II. He was a devoted husband and father. Preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Freda Furr; daughter Valarie Furr; step-daughter, Nancy Frazier; son, Forrest Furr; and son-in-law, Ray Leary; he leaves daughters, Becky Leary of Akron, Donna (Randy) Powell of Akron, Pam (Frank) Dimos of Warren; son Rick (Teena) Furr of Brasstown, N.C.; grandchildren, Hershel (Penney) Leary, Brian (Angie) Leary, and Jessie (Jamie) Leary, all of Akron, Shawn (Michelle) Powell of Barberton, Dustin (Carolyn) Powell of Akron, George (Jennifer) Dimos of McDonald, Matthew (Collette) Dimos of Parma, Timothy Dimos of Warren, Andrew (Rene) Furr of Florida, and Dillan (Stephanie) Furr of Akron; several great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, January 15 from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) where Rev.
