Death
Freda I. Furr, 83, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2006. Born in Clarksburg, W. Va. to Asa and Ona (Layfield) Junkins as one of eight children, Mrs. Furr lived most of her life in the Akron area where she had attended the Akron Baptist Temple. A devoted wife and mother, she leaves her husband of 54 years, Richard N.; daughters, Donna (Randy) Powell, and Rebecca (Ray) Leary, both of Akron, and Pamela (Frank) Dimos of Warren; sons, Ricky (Christeena) of Brasstown, N.C., and Forest of Akron; grandchildren, Herschel, Brian (Angie), and Jessie (Sherri) Leary, Dustin (Carolyn) and Shawn Powell, George, Matthew (Collette), and Timothy Dimos, Andrew and Dillon Furr; great grandchildren, Aidan Powell, Cameron Dimos, Nicholas, Gunnar, and Tyler Leary. She was preceded in death by daughters, Valerie Furr, and Nancy Frazier, as well as by her seven siblings. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home (811 Grant St.) where Rev. Ernie Kemppel will officiate at services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.Endnotes
