Death
MT. JACKSON, VA., May 28 — A funeral service for Mrs. Dooney Furr Bowman, 81, wife of Charles C. Bowman, orchardist, was held Thursday at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, with burial in the Mt. Jackson Cemetery. She died Tuesday at a Woodstock hospital. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons and five daughters, all of Mt, Jackson, 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The children are Gordon B. Bowman, Willis M. Bowman, Lorraine Bowman, Mrs. Ira Compton, Mrs. Marion Tisinger, Mrs. Frank Stedman and Mrs. Bernard Pence. Two sisters, Mrs. Maude Foltz, of Edinburg, and Mrs. Nina Robinson, of Raceland, Ky., and two brothers, Dr. Worth Furr and Clarence Furr, both of Washington, also survive.Richmond Times-Dispatch, Richmond, Virginia, May 29, 1953
