Funeral services for Robert M. Furr, 63, who died suddenly Wednesday morning at his home on South Mason Street in Harrisonburg will be held at his late home this morning at 10 o’clock, with Dr. James W. Wright of the U. B. Church officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Jackson cemetery, immediately following the services. Mr. Furr had been in ill health for eight months, but had recovered sufficiently to be able to return to his work in Washington the first of July. When stricken he was home for a few days rest and his death came as a shock to his many friends. A son of the late John and Fannie Furr, he was born near Mt. Jackson, where he spent his youth, later moving to Harrisonburg, where he was engaged in carpenter work until 1926, when he went to Washington to take a position as supervisor of repairs for a large real estate firm. Surviving are his widow, who before marriage was Miss Alice Long, one daughter, Mrs. Walter Trobaugh, of Harrisonburg; two grandchildren, Walter and Betty Trobaugh; three brothers, H. L. Furr of Harrisonburg; C. L. Furr and W. B. Furr, of Washington, and four sisters, Mrs. C. C. Bowman of Mt. Jackson; Mrs. K. M. Fadeley of Birmingham, Ala.; Mrs. W. D, Robinson of Vanceburg. Ky., and Mrs. Pitt Foltz of Edinburg.
