Death
HARRISONBURG — Harry L. Furr, 61, pioneer automobile dealer and inventor, died at his home Wednesday, the result of a heart attack. Mr. Furr, a native of Mt. Jackson, operated the first Ford and Buick agency in Harrisonburg and in his youth was manager of the Harrisonburg Mutual Telephone Company. He was the inventor of the Furr Auto Signal, one of the first automobile directional signals. Besides his wife, who was Miss Mabel Long of Mt. Jackson, he is survived by one daughter, Miss Mildred Furr of Washington: two brothers, C. L. and W. B. Furr, Washington; four sisters, Mrs. Doony E. Bowman, Mt. Jackson; Mrs. Kennie M. Fadely, Birmingham, Ala.; Mrs. W. D. Robinson, Vanceburg, Ky., and Mrs. Maud L. Fultz, Edinburg. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 P. M. at the First United Brethren Church. Burial will be at Mt. Jackson.Richmond Times-Dispatch, Richmond, Virginia, January 23, 1942
