Death
Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at 1:30 from the Deal Funeral Home in Washington, D. C. for Clarence L. Furr, Sr., a former resident of Harrisonburg. Mrs. (sic) Furr died Saturday afternoon at 5 o’clock at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Md. He was a retired employee of the National Naval Medical Center, and he had been a resident of Washington for a number of years. Born near Mt. Jackson on April 5, 1886 Mr. Furr moved to Harrisonburg as a young man and made his home there until moving to Washington. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Clarence L. Furr, Jr.; one brother, W. B. Furr, of Washington; two sisters, Mrs. W. D Robinson, of Raceland, Ky.; and Mrs. P. P. Foltz of Edinburg. Also one grandson. Burial was made in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, in Washington.Northern Virginia Daily, Strasburg, Virginia, January 27, 1954
