Death

Shirley Ann (Furr) Smith, 71, of 2134 Troxel Gap Road, passed away Monday evening, January 22, 2007 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville. She was born October 9, 1935 in Verona, the daughter of the late Rolland Raymond and Bertha Virginia Thompson Furr. She was a homemaker, loved caring for people, traveling and was baptized in the Brethren Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers; Richard Edward Furr, Carl Joseph Furr, Cyrus “Bill” William Furr, Raymond Eugene Furr and two sisters; Virginia Catherine Furr and Helen Lee Furr. Survivors include her husband, Charles Edward Smith, four daughters; Barbara Ann Bosserman and her husband Don of Craigsville, Janice Lorine Eads and her husband James of Waynesboro, Becky Sue Smith, Norma Jean Smith, both of Greenstone Residence of Waynesboro, a brother, Robert Nelson Furr and his wife Marion of Hanover, PA., a sister-in-law, Ruby Furr, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. At her request the body was cremated and there will be no services. The family will receive friends anytime on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the residence. The Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
