Death

Mrs. Emma Furr Barry died Friday morning in the Tampa Municipal Hospital, Tampa, Florida, where she had been critically ill for the past sixteen weeks. Mrs. Barry was born in Augusta County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Furr. For 22 years, Mrs. Barry had been a popular clerk with the J. C. Penny Co. of Staunton. She moved to Tampa, Florida, four years ago. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James A. Hall, Tampa; Mrs. Phillip E. Rader, Staunton; two grandchildren, Madeline Hall and Phillip E. Rader Jr. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. W. B. Andes and Mrs. E. P. Coiner, of Waynesboro, and two brothers, Gomes Furr, Mt. Crawford, and Boyd Furr, Big Island, Va. The body will arrive in Staunton Saturday afternoon and be taken to the Hamrick Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at eleven a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. The Rev. David F. Glovier will conduct the rites. Active pallbearers will be D. T. Cupp, Boyd E. Cupp, J. Ernest a Tracey Wine, and Charles Furr.
