Death

When death claimed Riley Furr at his home in Almond township Sunday afternoon, he wath (sic) the third member of that immediate family to die on July 12. His grand-father, Paul Furr, died 65 years ago July 12. His father, Faranton Furr, died 12 years ago on July 12. This particular date is becoming significant in the history of the Furr family. Riley Furr was 64 years of age. He had been ill with cancer for the past several months and his death was expected. The end came at his home in Almond township. Funeral rites were held yesterday afternoon at Bear Creek church with Elder Jason Eudy officiating. Interment followed the service which was held at 2 o’clock. He had long been a member of the church. The deceased leaves his wife, Mrs. Maggie Eudy Furr, and ten children, as follows: Albert, William, Lonnie, Paul, and Laura, Margaret, Josie, Dora, Bell, and Clara. One child is dead. There are 34 living grandchildren, seven dead, and one great grandchild. Close friends of served as flower girls bearers. Mr. Furr was well-known, held in esteem and a large crowd attended the funeral an burial.
