Death

Mr. Royce Cecil Furr, age 83, of Pascagoula, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 in Pascagoula, MS. Mr. Furr was born December 2, 1928 in Jackson MS to John E. and Alyeen Furr. He served in the United States Coast Guard and was a member of the American Legion. He was a building contractor in Jackson County for over 50 years. He was organized, and a true people person. When he met people, he listened, cared and remembered what they said, a rare quality in today's busy world. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife of 52 years Alma "Cricket" Furr, of Pascagoula; two sons, John Furr and his wife, Helen, of Grand Bay, AL, Mike Furr, of Vancleave, MS; two daughters, Susan Bowman and her husband, Gary, of Vancleave, MS and Julie Clark, of Gautier, MS; a brother, Jerry Furr and his wife, Marlene, of Palm Desert, CA; sister, Margaret Barfalon, of Sonoma, CA; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday 10am-12noon at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, MS, followed by graveside service at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
