Death

John Royce Furr, 66, of Grand Bay, AL, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. He was born on December 11, 1950, in Salem, MA. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Furr Plumbing and Singing River Hospital System. John will be remembered as a devoted son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. John was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Furr; father, Royce Furr; grandparents, John E. & Alyeen Furr and Louise Blanchard. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Jean and Joe West; grandson, Ryan D. Roberts; brother, Michael Furr, Sr.; sisters, Susan (Gary) Bowman, Julie Clark, Connie (Andy Jenne) West, Paula (Bruce) Brister, Debbie (Calvin) Brooks, and Cathy Stokes; step-mother, Cricket Furr; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of loyal friends. Visitation for John will be Friday May 19, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Services will begin at 4:00pm in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home. Irby Tillman, Walter Forman, Eddie Hall, Bart Walker, J.W. Scott and Paul Sullivan, honorary pallbearers will be David Piner, Russell McMahan, Freeman Lightsey, Tommy Williams and rest of the Singing River Hospital Construction Crew. Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, in Escatawpa/Moss Point, MS is in charge of arrangements.
