Death
Thursday, December 14, 2006 — Daniel Paul Furr, 78, of 508 W. Whitley St., Norwood, died at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at his home. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. today with a 30-minute state in South Stanly Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Bobby Mowery will officiate and burial will be in Norview Gardens. Born Aug. 18, 1928, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late William Daniel and Alma Plyler Furr and was retired from Arrowood. A son, Chris Furr, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Veda Lisenby “Teenie” Furr of the home a son; Michael Goss of Norwood; a daughter, Jodie Furr of Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Homer Furr of Wagram and Dub Furr of Newport News, Va.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
