Death
O. B. Furr, 69, died last night at 8:10 o'clock at his home at 320 Lakewood avenue after an illness of 17 weeks. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock at McEwen chapel on East Morehead street. Rev. A. V. Rippy of Oak Grove Baptist church and Rev. M. G. Chapman of Westside Baptist church will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery. The body will remain at McEwen Funeral home until the hour of the service. Mr. Furr was born December 6, 1881, in Union county, the son of the late John A. and Alice Wentz Furr. He was a pattern maker with Queen City Foundry. Surviving Mr. Furr are his wife, Mrs. Nannie Griffith Furr; a daughter, Mrs. W. L. Campbell of Laurel, Md.; a stepdaughter, Miss Athenia Helms of Charlotte; a son, Earl Furr of Charlotte; a brother, D. F.
