Death
D. F. Furr, 65, of Tuckaseegee road, died yesterday at 9:30 p.m. in a local hospital. He had been in declining health for two years, seriously for the last two months. Mr. Furr was the chief engineer or the Charlotte laundry. He was a member of the Mulberry Presbyterian church. Born September 21, 1886, in Union county, S. C., he was the son of the late John A. and Alice Wentz Furr. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Baker Furr; one son, John A. of the home; one grandson, Danny, of the home; a stepmother, Mrs. Lexie Teeter of the city; a halfsister, Mrs. T. W. Bostian of the city, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the McEwen Funeral home. Burial will be in Sharon Presbyterian church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: R. R. Hundley, Calvin Sloan, L. N. Baker, J. L. Baker, Jr., James R. Teague and Stanford Niemer. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Furr’s sister, Mrs. C. B.
