Death
HAMPTON - Betty Ruth Harrison, 78, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Riverside Hospital after a brief illness. Betty was born on Dec. 15, 1929, in Moore County, N.C., to the late William and Flossie Furr. She was a homemaker and wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all. Betty was an active member of Faith Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her loving husband, William Harrison. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Barbara Green of Florence, S.C., Wanda Sheffield of Chesapeake, and her husband, Charles Himelright, Debbie Pate of Midlothian, and her husband, Gene, and her 'Chosen' daughter, Pat Davis of Hampton. A sister, Margaret Harris, of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Mandy Pate of Midlothian, Lisa Green of South Carolina and Shane Green of Indianapolis, and many loving nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peninsula Funeral Home, burial to follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
