Death
ALBEMARLE -— Allen Concton Furr, 79, of Rt. 3 died Tuesday afternoon at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital after being in declining health for several months. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Stanly Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Gibson officiating. He will be buried in the Canton Baptist Church cemetery. Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock. Born Nov 15, 1898, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Andrew Jenkins and Tina Bowers Furr. Before retiring, he was a baker at Burrell's Bakery. Survivors include his wife, Carrie Huneycutt Furr, four sons, Horace J., Wayne, Calvin and Boyd H. Furr, all of Albemarle, four daughters, Mrs. Burl Hathcock of Norwood, Mrs. Robert Rummage of Pleasant Gardens, Mrs. Larry Hilt of Oakboro and Mrs. Waylon Thompson of Charlotte, two brothers, Shuford and Charles J. Furr, both of Albemarle, a sister, Miss Bertha Furr of Albemarle, and 13 grandchildren.Military
