Death

Wayne Concton Furr, 81 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System Stanly in Albemarle. Mr. Furr was born May 27, 1935 to the late Allen Concton and Carrie Odessa Furr. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Goldstein and sisters, Helen Hathcock and Brenda Hill. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday at 4:00 pm at Canton Baptist Church in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Mark Mabry, Rev. Ken Gibson, and Pastor Daniel Furr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include: wife of 59 years , Lucille Huneycutt Furr; sons, Barry and wife Martha Furr, Richard and wife Wanda Furr; daughter, Janet and husband David Goldstein; grandchildren, Daniel, Alison, Ashley, Nathan, Jessica,; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Sam, Silas, Emrie; brothers, Horace and wife Margie Furr, Calvin and wife Wanda Furr, Boyd and wife Vickie Furr; sisters, Ruby and husband Robert Rummage, Evola and husband Wayland Thompson. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 N. 1st St. Albemarle, NC. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Furr family.
