Death
FORT SMITH, Ark., Apr. 14 — Funeral services for E. J. Furr, 78, retired mill machine operator and Nazarene minister, will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in First Church of the Nazarene here. The father of Vester Furr, 2008 E. 12th pl., Tulsa, an employe (sic) of the Newspaper Printing Corp. composing room, he died Monday afternoon at home here of cancer. Born at Ozark, Ark., Mr. Furr retired in 1939 as a mill machine operator and Nazarene minister. He had lived 62 years in Fort Smith. Other survivors include the widow, Eula; two of other sons, Lester Furr, Fort Smith, and Chester Furr, Midwest City, Okla.; a daughter, Mrs. Hestel Reed, Fort Smith, and a brother, Edward Furr, Fort Worth, Tex. Interment will be in Forest Park cemetery here under direction of Putnam funeral home.Tulsa World, Tulsa, Oklahoma, April 15, 1959
