Notes
Death
Mr. Need Furr, a well known railroader, and popular with all who knew him, passed away at his home here last Saturday evening, after an illness of short duration. Deceased was about forty years of age, and had lived here for a number of years, and enjoyed the friendship of all who knew him, a large crowd attending his interment in the city cemetery. The Talihina American, Talihina, Oklahoma, December 29, 1910
There is always bitter with the sweet. With the wedding ceremony in progress (referring to a surprise wedding not related to Mr. Furr,) the children in expectation of the many handsome presents on the burdened tree, news, with bated breath was whispered round that Nead Fur had died suddenly. No man among us was better liked than he, nor more attentive to business.
It is indeed with sadness that we record the death of Need Fur, which came so suddenly on Saturday night last. No better man among us. A good citzen, (sic) a faithful husband and devoted father. Mr. Fur for a number of years worked at the Cinder Pit. At his death and for some time before he was Yard forman. (sic) He was a member of the Methodist church and also the W.O.W. His funeral was held at the Methodist church by the Pastor Rev. J.W. Rogers. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn their loss.
A Card of Thanks
We desire to thank the many friends for their kindness to us during the sickness and death of our beloved husband and Father. Mrs. N.F. Fur and children.
