Death
Beachum B. Furr, age 90, retired farmer of Route 3, Albemarle, died suddenly, apparently of a heart attack, about 6:45 a.m. Sunday while visiting in the home of a son, George, in Concord. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at New Mt. Tabor Methodist Church of which he was a member. Interment was in the church cemetery. Rev. A. B. Weaver and Rev. J. G. Allred officiated. Members of Mr. Furr’s Sunday School class served as pallbearers. Son of the late Ephriam and Malinda Smith Furr, he was married to the former Miss Maggie House, who preceded him in death. Surviving are four sons, George of Concord, Albert of New London, John of High Point and Walter L. of Route 3, Albemarle; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, April 9, 1968
