Death
Funeral services were held Sunday at Junction for Mrs. Benety Furr, 92, a pioneer resident of the Hill Country and mother of County Commissioner W. H. Furr of Hunt, who passed away Saturday at her home in Junction. Active pallbearers were E. R. Cantwell, D. S. Cantwell, Calvin Furr, Raymond Furr, J. W. Furr and Alfred Bannowsky. Honorary pallbearers were J. F. Gentry, N. R. Skaggs, Judge Burricr, TaylorOldham, Lee Murehison, A. F. Northcutt, A. F. Murchison, Wm. Bevans, S. W. Wallace, M. C. Reese, J. B. Fisher, A. S. Price, French Cummins, Alf Reeves, A. G. Farmer, J. A. MeCollum, Coke R. Stevenson and Weaver H. Baker. Mrs. Furr was born January 4, 1842, in North Carolina, and came to Texas in 1869. She was married to C. Furr on March 24, 1861, and to this union. was born eight sons and two daughters. She had been a member of the Baptist Church since 1885. The surviving six children, all of whom were at their mother's bedside when she passed away, are: W. H. Furr of Hunt, A. J. Furr and Arthur Furr of Menard, E. P. and R. B. Furr of Junction, Lee Furr of Del Rio and Mrs. M. B Cantwell of Brady.Kerrville Mountain Sun, Kerrville, Texas, January 25, 1934
