Death
Lee Furr, 60, resident of Del Rio For 16 years, died Sunday at the Faweett Farm west of the city after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. in the Doran Chapel with the Rev. Charles W. Solomon, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was made in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Doran Funeral Home. Furr was born in Uvalde County and came here 16 years ago. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mamie Furr, a daughter, Mrs. Wyland Spear of Baytown, and a son, Fred Furr of Goose Creek. Five brothers and a sister also survive. The brothers are Arthur of Camp Wood, W. H. of Kerrville, Andrew of Menard, R. B. of Junction, and Ef Furr of Llano. The sister is Mrs. Marx Cantwell of Brady. All of the brothers except Arthur were here for the funeral. Others here included Mr. and Mrs. Cantwell, Earl Cantwell of Corpus Christi, Mr. and Mrs. George Cantrell of Uvalde, Mrs. Howard Sammons of Kerrville and Mrs. Lloyd Merritt of Kerrville, nieces and nephews.Del Rio News Herald, Del Rio, Texas, February 17, 1941
