Death
ALBEMARLE—Mrs. Malenda Jane Herrin, 86, wife of the late Luther A. Herrin, of Rt. 4 Albemarle passed away at her home Tuesday at 6:15 A.M. She was born in Stanly County, February 22, 1875, the daughter of the late Aaron Furr and Sarah Hatley Furr. Survivors include three sons, Ernest C. Herrin, Paul E. Herrin, Clifton J. Herrin, all of Albemarle; four daughter, Mrs. Grover Hatley, Mrs. Robert Efird, Mrs. Martin Lambert and Mrs. Raymond Poplin, all of Albemarle; a stepson, Mr. C. D. Herrin, Albemarle, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Willis E. Brown, Albemarle; a brother, Mr. G. P. Furr, of Arizona; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Tucker, of Oakboro; 19 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. from Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Officiating will be Elder Cliff Allen. Interment in church cemetery. The body will be taken to her home Tuesday at 2 p.m. Arrangements by Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, December 13, 1961
